UCF football has not been around nearly as long as other storied programs such as Alabama, Kansas State, or Clemson. However, UCF has made a name for themselves in such a short amount of time and has moved up the ranks to now be apart of a power conference.
Even with a short history, UCF has played a lot of teams. Moving up the ranks so fast will do that for a school. We have seen all the teams UCF has not played and we have even looked at the teams that UCF is undefeated against. However, there are a lot of teams that UCF has played and has never beaten.
Now this could be a team that the Knights faced off against once or maybe twice and just has yet to beat, but there are also teams that UCF has faced on quite a few occasions and just has not found a way to win just yet.
With there being a total of 28 teams that UCF has never beaten, here is a breakdown of each team and how many losses the Knights have suffered.
Non Power Conference Schools
Hawaii (0-1): UCF has faced Hawaii once, and this was actually when the Knights were not quite an FBS school back in 1995. They joined the FBS in 1996.
Nevada (0-1): UCF and Nevada faced off back in 2005 when the Knights hadn't even been in the FBS for 10 years. They faced off in a bowl game and the Wolfpack came out victorious. It does not seem like the Knights will be able to get revenge anytime soon.
Texas State (0-2): Both times UCF played Texas State was when the Knights were in Division II.
Utah State (0-2): UCF and Utah State faced off back in 2001 as a non-conference game where Utah State was able to walk away with the win. There probably will not be another matchup anytime soon.
ACC
Clemson (0-1): UCF and Clemson faced off for the first and only time in 2001 to kick off the season. It was a close one-possession game where the Tigers took the 21-13 win over the Knights.
Duke (0-1): The only time Duke and UCF have met has been in the postseason back in 2022 when the Blue Devils unfortunately won in the Military Bowl.
FSU (0-1): These two in-state schools faced off the season before UCF joined the FBS. They faced off at the beginning of the 1995 season and the Seminoles walked away with a convincing win. This is a rematch the Knights are waiting to get as a hopefully renewed in-state rivalry.
Miami (0-2): UCF and Miami faced off in back-to-back seasons back in 2008 and 2009 for a home-and-away series. The first game against Miami was in Orlando in the Bounce House and was the largest crowd in UCF football history. This is another in-state matchup UCF would love to get another try at.
Syracuse (0-3): Syracuse seems to have UCF's number with the Knights losing three times to the Syracuse Orange. These teams faced off in three straight seasons from 2001 to 2003 and the only game that was close was the one game in Orlando where UCF lost 35-38.
Virginia Tech (0-3): Like Syracuse, Virginia Tech also seems to have UCF's number with the Knights losing three times to the Hokies.
Big 12
Arizona State (0-1): UCf and Arizona State faced off in 2002 and the Sun Devils walked away with the win. With Arizona State joining the Big 12, there will be a better chance for UCF to get a win, especially starting in 2024.
Kansas (0-1): UCF and Kanas faced on in UCF's inaugural season in the Big 12. The Knights will be able to get their revenge at some point on the Jayhawks with both teams being in the same conference.
Kansas State (0-2): Kansas State and UCF have played twice, both times in Manhattan. The wildcats walked away with the win both times, the most recent one in 2023 in a close matchup in UCF's first game in the Big 12. It probably won't take long for UCF to take this one off the board with both teams now being in the same conference.
Texas Tech (0-1): Like Kansas, UCF and Texas Tech faced on in 2023 with the Red Raiders walking away with the one-point win. The Knights will definitely be able to get their revenge in the near future.
West Virginia (0-3): This is a tough one because UCF wanted this win in 2023, especially for their homecoming, but unfortunately the Mountaineers have walked away with the win three times. Hopefully, UCF will be able to get one in the win column soon with both teams in the Big 12.
Big Ten
Michigan (0-1): UCF faced Michigan in their unfortunate winless season in 2016, so it is no surprise that UCF does not have a win against Michigan.
Nebraska (0-1): UCF and Nebraska have not faced off against each other since 1997 when the Knights were a young team in the FBS.
Ohio State (0-1): UCF and Ohio State faced off just 12 years ago in 2012. The Buckeyes were still a high-flying team back in 2012 like they are now, so unfortunately, the Knights have not had another shot at Ohio State.
Purdue (0-2): UCF hasn't faced Purdue since the late 90s and it doesn't look like a matchup that will be set anytime soon.
Wisconsin (0-1): UCF and Wisconsin faced off back in 2004 and the BADgers walked away with a big convincing win. With both teams now in power conferences, a matchup is possible, but it probably won't happen anytime soon.
SEC
Arkansas (0-1):
LSU (0-1): The game in LSU back in 2018 was a tough one as it was the Fiesta Bowl against Joe Burrow's Tigers. UCF didn't have McKenzie Milton and they came up a touchdown short of winning their second straight New Year Six bowl game and keeping their winning streak alive.
Ole Miss (0-1): The last time UCF and Ole Miss faced off was back in 1997 and it was an electric game. The game ended up going into overtime and the Rebels won the game 24-23.
Mississippi State (0-2): UCF and Mississippi State face off twice a decade apart. The Bulldogs walked away with both wins, one in the Liberty Bowl and one at Mississippi State.
Missouri (0-2): Missouri and UCF faced off in a home-and-away series back with the first game in 2012 and the second game in 2014. The Tigers walked away with both wins convincingly.
Oklahoma (0-1): UCf and Oklahoma faced on in UCF's first season in the Big 12. It will be interesting to see if these teams face off anytime soon with the Sooners now in the SEC.
South Carolina (0-5): UCF seems to have a big problem against South Carolina with five losses against them. UCF has welcomed South Carolina once in the Bounce House once, but the Gamecocks of course walked away with the win.
Texas (0-2): UCF and Texas faced off for the second time in UCF's first game in the Bounce House. The stadium was packed and literally bouncing, but unfortunately, the Longhorns spoiled the grand opening by winning the game.
