UCF has been known to have some pretty sweet helmet decals or just helmets in general. From the Space Game to the Knightmare blackouts, UCF knows how to put together some cool uniform designs that look good every time.

For their Family Weekend game this weekend against Sam Houston, instead of going for style, the Knights are going with heartwarming instead.

Each helmet will look a little different for Week 2 as each helmet has its own personal design. September is childhood cancer awareness month and the Knights will be ricking helmets where the UCF decal will be a different design that was designed by pediatric patients from Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

UCF is known to have a great relationship with the Orlando Health hospitals and UCF players from all sports go and visit pediatric patients trying to bring smiles to their faces. Well now some of the pediatric patients will get to see their designs on the football field against Sam Houston.

Not only is UCF rocking the helmets designed by the pediatric patients, but they also welcomed the patients to one of their practices this week so they could watch the Knights prepare for their Week 2 matchup and even get to meet some of their favorite players.

The special part about these helmet decals is not just that they were designed by pediatric patients, but players from the football program made their way over to the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and helped the patients with their designs before the annual spring game earlier this year. UCF first debuted these helmets during the spring game, but now these kids will get to see their designs during an actual game this season.

A round of applause for Brad Anderson, UCF's equipment manager for this heartwarming helmet design and for bringing awareness to childhood cancer awareness month.
