UCF is no longer a newcomer as Big 12 officially welcomes four new members
UCF has a year under their belt in the Big 12 and should no longer be considered a "newcomer" in the conference. That title now belongs to Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah as they are now officially a part of the conference.
UCF welcomed the four newcomers to the conference the best way they knew how...they took them to Disney World.
In their welcome post for the former Pac-12 teams, the Knights put the four mascots in the happiest place on earth in front of Cinderella's Castle in Magic Kingdom, a place where UCF had their championship parade back in 2017.
UCF football is set to face each newcomer this season in football, including ending their season against Utah, the team projected to finish first in their first season in the conference.
The Big 12 now officially has 16 teams, the most they have ever had in conference history. While teams moving conferences is not a new things to college football, it is becoming more drastic with eah new season.
This year, the Pac-12 Conference technically still consists of Washington State and Oregon State, but no one is still considering it a Power Five conference anymore. There are still talks of teams moving conferences in the coming years and Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark has made it very clear he wants to build an unstoppable conference with all the best teams.
So will UCF be welcoming any more teams in the coming seasons? That is yet to be seen, but right now, they are probably focusing more on this season and the teams currently in their conference and in their way of a Big 12 title.
