UCF football announces 2024 gameday themes including annual Space Game

UCF has officially released their 2024 gameday themes including the beloved annual Space Game. Every season, UCF football puts together its themes for students to dress for or even celebrations for all UCF fans to enjoy.

The themes are kicked off by the First Bounce which is the first home game of the season. The First Bounce is meant to kick off the season when the students get to bounce for yet another season to the school's favorite hype song Zombie Nation. The First Bounce this season is set to be against New Hampshire, the first meeting of the two schools ever.

The First Bounce is followed up by UCF's Family Weekend where families of students come to visit and enjoy a full celebration around the game. Knight's fans both young and old come together to celebrate the history of UCF. Family weekend will be celebrated against Sam Houston.

The third gameday theme is UCF's annual Military Appreciation weekend where the university and the team honor the brave men and women who choose to fight for our country. The halftime show features the UCF Marching Knights performing all the U.S. Military songs and the team showcasing a special-themed helmet. This year military appreciation weekend falls on Cincinnati game week.

UCF's Homecoming is a beloved tradition at UCF as it is at many schools, but students know that with Homecoming comes UCF's most beloved tradition, the best Homecoming tradition in the country, Spirit Splash. Homecoming also brings alumni from all around and all ages back to UCF to celebrate their time at UCF and reminisce on all the memories they made as a Knight. UCF will be playing BYU this year on their Homecoming weekend.

Probably the most exciting and awaited game each season is the annual Space Game. The Space Game is when UCF looks back on its past in helping build the U.S. Space program and become the Cironauts again, their former mascot when UCF was known as FTU. Fans enjoy dressing up in space themes clothes from aliens to astronauts. UCF fans also love the Space Game because the Knights are undefeated in their annual Space Game, a perfect 7-0. This year the Knights hope to be 8-0 in Space Games after beating Arizona.

The final gameday theme for the 2024 season is UCF's final home game, known as Senior Knight. Senior Knight is when the team honors their seniors and their families, marking the last home game of the season. this year, Senior Knight is even more crucial as they will play Utah, the team favored to win the Big 12 this season, so this game could have Big 12 Championship and College Football Playoff implications.
