UCF fans won't want to hear the slander of Scott Frost's coaching career

Scott Frost has a stellar start to his head coaching career at UCF. In his first season with the Knights, he took UCF from a program that was winless in 2015 to a team that was bowl-eligible in 2016. Then, in 2017, Frost led UCF to a perfect 13-0 season with a win over Auburn in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, being the only undefeated team in college football that season.

Frost, instead of sticking with the Knights, decided to return to his Alma Mater, Nebraska, as the head coach of the Cornhuskers. Frost's time at Nebraska was anything but a warm homecoming as he never found his footing in Lincoln. After a little over four seasons, being fired just a few games into his fifth season, Frost was without a job and had to figure out his next move.

Frost spent some time in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams before coming back to Orlando to take the open position with UCF. Fans were ready after some very mediocre years to see if Frost could catch lightning in a bottle again with the Knights.

Frost didn't get what he wanted in his first season back with the Knights, but now in year two of his second stint, fans are hoping for a repeat of what happened in 2017, but some out in the media are sceptical that Frost will ever be able to find that success again.

FanSided's Saturday Blitz doesn't trust Scott Frost with a college football program

FanSided's Saturday Blitz writer Nicholas Rome put together a list of college football coaches who had it rough in their careers, and probably shouldn't be trusted to run a program ever again. Well, to the dismay of UCF fans, Frost landed pretty high up on that list, coming in at No. 7 in the top 10.

Now, Frost's time at Nebraska is largely because of that, but he has been trusted with another program, just the same one he found success with before. However, this is not the same UCF program that Frost once had back in 2017. The world of college football is different, NIL is a thing now, and the transfer portal also plays a large role.

Here is the great thinga bout UCF fans, though, they love Scott Frost. They weren't too fond of him for leaving after the 2017 season, making them wonder what could have been if he hadn't left, but he is back now, and fans will defend him with everything they have.

Frost just needs some time to recapture what he once did back in 2017 in Orlando, and with a year under his belt, he has a better chance to do it now than he did last season. Frost took over a very fractured Knights football program, so Frost is entitled to some time, but there is hope this ranking doesn't prove to be right.
