UCF is getting ready to head into a new, yet also old era, when it comes to football. Scott Frost has made his return to the Knights, and while some are ecstatic about it, others are wondering what he is going to bring to the table. One thing Frost was able to do well in his first stint with the Knights was bring in underrated recruits and make them elite players.
Frost is getting ready to host his first big recruiting weekend back with the Knights as UCF will welcome in their first set of official visitors from the Class of 2026. With a little over half a dozen 3-star recruits coming in, Frost will need to work his magic yet again to try and build the future of this program, one that has been seriously damaged after the Gus Malzahn era.
So this weekend is crucial for Frost as he will welcome in seven official visitors and a few unofficial visitors to Bounce House in sunny Orlando, FL.
UCF's 7 official visitors this weekend
3-star Javar Bowden TE
3-star Leon Noil Jr. IOL
3-star Prince Jean WR
3-star Jayvian Tanelus RB
3-star Justin Edward LB
3-star Kymani Morales LB
3-star Jayden Curtis DL
Can Scott Frost bring this program back from the brink?
UCF really hit a low point while Gus Malzahn was the head coach for the Knights. There was a lot of hype around the hiring, but Malzahn did as he always does: he promised a lot and didn't follow through on most of it. He never won a conference championship, even when UCF was still in the American Athletic Association, and only led the Knights to a bowl game once while in the Big 12, and completely ran the team into the ground in his final season.
Frost has a lot of ground to make up when it comes to this program. However, when he first came to UCF, he took over a season after the Knights had gone winless, and he led them to a bowl game the next season, so Frost isn't starting as rough as he did then, but that was a whole different era of college football.
Frost can do himself a lot of favors with a good recruiting weekend coming up and really help this program back up to where it was and even better after that.
