When UCF brought Scott Frost back to Orlando, fans were ready for another 13-0 season right off the bat. Well, the Knights are currently 4-6 on the season and may not even be bowl-eligible in Frost's first season with the black and gold.
While some fans are going to be mad and call for his job, it needs to be remembered that this era of college football is different than even back in 2017. The transfer and NIL make things so different, especially when it comes to bringing guys into the program and keeping them in the building.
The best thing Frost can do right now is focus on finishing the season as best as possible, but then turning all of his attention to trying to flip a few recruits and then hitting the transfer portal as hard as possible.
Frost just got some good news on the recruiting trail before UCF's Senior Day matchup against Oklahoma State, especially when it comes to the future.

UCF head coach Scott Frost has to get his guys into the building. Right now, he is playing with a pieced-together team that he was able to scramble together in order to have a roster for the 2025 season. UCF has so many de-commitments after Gus Malzahn left for Florida State that Frost has so many positions to fill.
Now, Frost is able to go out and get the guys he wants for the future of this program, and one of them is four-star quarterback Rocco Marriott. Marriott was committed to James Madison since May 2025, but just flipped to the Knights.
Marriott is rated as a four-star quarterback according to 247Sports Composite and is ranked the No. 22 quarterback in the Class of 2026 and the No. 4 player in the state of Missouri.
This is a huge commitment for Frost, who already has a quarterback in the Class of 2026. Three-star quarterback Dante Carr has been committed to the Knights since early June. There could be a quarterback battle brewing in Orlando come spring ball, which is exactly what Frost wants from his guys.
