UCF women's basketball had a rough start to their Big 12 campaign. After losing just one game in non-conference play, the Knights weren't able to find a win in conference play in their first seven Big 12 games. They finished the season 3-15 in Big 12 play and were an early exit in the Big 12 Tournament.

With the chapter of that season now closed, the Knights can move on and start preparing for their second season in the Big 12. With their top scorer, Kaitlin Peterson returning, head coach Sytia Messer will be able to build around her and other returners.

Messer is entering her third season as the Knights's head coach and it seemed like she was finally getting her footing in non-conference play, but the Big 12 is another beast. With teams like Kansas State, Texas, adn Baylor, it was tough to get anything going sometimes.

After bringing in some transfers and new recruits, the Knights hope their 2024-2025 season is better than the season before.

Looking ahead to the 2024-2025 season, the Knights now know who they will play in year two of the conference. They will play every team in the Big 12 and have a home-and-away series against three teams, a home-only series against six teams, and an away-only series against six teams.

So here are UCF women's basketball's 2024-2025 Big 12 opponents:

Home-and-away series

  • Houston
  • Iowa State
  • TCU

Home-only series

  • Arizona
  • Arizona State
  • Baylor
  • Cincinnati
  • Oklahoma State
  • Texas Tech

Away-only series

  • BYU
  • Colorado
  • Kansas
  • Kansas State
  • Utah
  • West Virginia

With the addition of four new teams to the Big 12, UCF's competition will only get tougher. the departure of Texas and Oklahoma relieved some pressure, but the teams coming in are just as good if not better.
