Sparky is an interesting concept because Arizona State is the Sun Devils so their mascot is well a Devil. He is synonymous with the Sun Devils and Arizona State chose not to change who the mascot would be.

Sparky is also a fun name that fits the aspect of the mascot. He also posted a Godzilla-like video of him crushing buses, pretty cool as well.
