Big 12 power rankings. . . . . . 540. . . 13

Yet another second-year team finds themselves towards the bottom of these power rankings. BYU was the only newcomer not to come from the AAC, and some thought they would fair well in the Big 12, but their first season was far from what the Cougars wanted it to be.

The defense did better than most expected it to in their first season in the Big 12, but the same can not be said for the offense. The Cougars struggled immensely on offense ranking last in almost every offensive stats. The offensive line was a mess and the guys that excelled have either transferred or moved on to the NFL.

The good news is that BYU brought in three quarterbacks through the transfer portal that are slated to help elevate the offense. Former Baylor quarterback Gerry Bohanon is slated to be the starter next season, but without protection and solid weapons around him, the offense could be the root of BYU's problems yet again.
