UCF was able to start its 2025 season and second campaign under Scott Frost with a win against Jacksonville State, a close one at that, ending 17-10. The Knights certainly didn't play a perfect game, but they also had to finish over half of the game after a two-hour-plus rain delay.
Quarterback Cam Fancher got the start for the Knights, but after taking a brutal hit just before the rain delay went into effect, he was knocked out of the game due to a back injury, and Indiana transfer Tayven Jackson took over. Jackson was able to play through the rest of the game and apparently had some coms issues and led the Knights to victory.
Now the Knights are set to face North Carolina A&T, and Jackson will get the start again with Fancher still out with the back injury.

Weather in Orlando, FL
After dealing with many weather delays in UCF's home opener against Jacksonville State, the Knights are hoping to play their matchup against North Carolina A&T without any weather issues. Unfortunately, that may not be the case. With a 7:00 p.m. kickoff time, the Knights are subject to dealing with the evening storms that are forecasted. There is nearly a 70% chance of thunderstorms later in the day, but it does lower later in the night.
Humidity is going to be very high at 90% so that is something both teams will have to deal with. The rain could be a big factor in this matchup, just like it was last week.
