Every UCF fan is potentially shedding a tear this week as UCF quarterback Dylan Rizk has announced he intends to enter the transfer portal this spring. The soon-to-be sophomore quarterback appeared in six games for the Knights in 2024, starting in four of them.
Rizk rose to immediate fame in Orlando when he came into the game against BYU, actually giving UCF a chance to make a comeback against the undefeated Cougars. He will forever be remembered for his performance against Arizona in the annual Space Game, where he threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns, one of them being a huge hail-mary touchdown at the end of the first half.

Dylan Rizk intends to enter the spring transfer portal
Rizk became a fan favorite because while former head coach Gus Malzahn was still the leading man at UCF, he had Rizk as the fourth-string quarterback behind Arkansas transfer KJ Jefferson, Jacurri Brown, and EJ Colson. Rizk used the opportunity he had late in games to show his ability to not just his coaching staff but all of the UCF fanbase, making him a fan favorite.
Fans came up with the fun tagline that UCF needs to "Rizk it all" by playing Rizk for the rest of the season. The young Florida native also grew in fame due to the number he chose to wear, the N0. 10, most famously known as McKenzie Milton's number. Milton is probably one of the most famous quarterbacks in UCF history, leading the Knights to their undefeated season in 2017 and their win over Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl for their claim to the National Championship.
Everyone knows of the injury that took Milton out the following season and then forced him to transfer when Dillon Gabriel was making headlines for the Knights. Now, though, Milton has returned to UCF to be the quarterbacks coach under new head coach Scott Frost, who is now in his second stint as UCF's leading man.
When Frost came in, he certainly worked in the transfer portal, bringing in a lot of guys and quarterbacks. Most notably, he brought in Indiana transfer Tayven Jackson, who stepped in for the Hoosiers last season when their starter Kurtis Rourke was out for a couple of games. With Frost bringing in his own guys, Rizk knew he had to work harder.
It seems, though, that Rizk might believe he needs to go elsewhere to get the playing time he wants in a less crowded quarterback room. That marks one player that Frost himself has lost this spring, but no others have entered the portal since.
Thank you, Dylan Rizk, for bringing some joy to UCF football last season when it was sorely lacking.
